I chose this magazine cover because I figured it would be fun to come up with headlines and have a creative picture on the cover. As I was creating this, I I kept having to go back and forth on how Rolling Stone places their headlines. The fonts I used vary between 28-30 font and I thought it would be interesting to do black and red colors. This photo was taken in a mock studio, and one of my classmates took this picture of me. The soft box we used for the studio lighting really helped bring out the colors, and made them soft. What also helped with the lighting of this picture was the reflector, it made it much brighter and was complimented by the soft box.
This photo was taken at the Leo Carrillo Ranch, while I was waiting to take my senior portraits. My mom and I were walking around the park to find good portrait spots, then I noticed the vibrant colors of this flower; therefore, I had to capture it. To take this picture, I used my IPhone 7 plus, which has the dual camera. Once I uploaded this picture onto my computer, then I opened it in Adobe Photoshop. The effects that I used to emphasize the color in this picture were color balance, vibrant effect, and also the contrast tool. In order to capture the striking colors in this photo, my teacher used Epson Glossy photo Paper on the Epson P800 digital printer. I’m honored to have my picture entered in this contest, and extremely excited to see everyone’s artwork.
Photos I used in my projectHow I used all these pictures is: I used the quick selection tool, layer masking, cloning tool, and had to reshape some images. " There's a green light in my eyes
and my lover on my mind and I sing by the piano tore my yellow dress and cry and cry and cry over the love of you" Over the Love of You by Florence and the Machine The word tessellation, in my mind, means one image being mirrored in different sized squares to create something even more beautiful then the original picture. This project was very difficult for me because photoshop is not easy to me. The way I created these tessellations is: you must find a picture to crop and mirror, create a template that's either 8 inches, 4 inches, or 2 inches. Then put both the template in photoshop and the picture, after that you crop your picture and change the image size to whichever size template you're doing. Once the image is cropped, you use your move tool and move it to the template. Once it fits perfectly in the template's borders, you duplicate the layer, and repeat the process of fitting the image into the other squares. MandalasThe word mandala, in my mind, means a series of images, that are the same, but mirrored differently. This mandala is similar to the tessellations, but instead of duplicating each individual picture, you first merge the layers together in photoshop, then duplicate the layers, so that you don't have to rotate it or duplicate each layer. If you duplicate each layer, it won't turnout right, and you will have to start all over. I by far enjoyed this assignment more than the tessellation one.
