This picture represents the element line because the main object of this picture has multiple, and the rails stand out. This image represents the element shape because the entire pictures is designed with shapes, making this an inorganic shape. All the shapes made up in this picture have heighth and width and are two dimensional. This is color because the handprints radiant colors stand out, especially since there's a black background. This is the element form because you can see how the image is three dimensional, and the emphasis on the highlights and the shadows on the rock. This picture is texture because its two dimensional, it gives a sense of how the rocks and water would feel. This picture is the element space because it's three dimensional feeling, the space around the primary object is making the primary object stand out more. This picture is value because you can see the lightness and darkness of the image. There's a type of shading/ darkness, which brings out the lightness in the picture.

The building block of design All good design will have one or more of these elements ; line, color, shape, form, texture, space, and value
This picture taken by Matt Black has thwart principle of emphasis because the picture draws the viewers to the little girl. This picture was taken by Sandy Skoglund, this picture represents the art principle of proportions because it shows the size of the baby dolls and the people. This picture taken by Alfred Stieglitz represents the art principle of balance because the symmetry of both hands show visual stability. This picture taken by Ben Von Wong represents the element of value because of the darkness of the surface, and the shades of the picture. This picture represents the art principle rhythm; the movement portrays the importance of this image, and what's going on at the time. This image represents harmony because the color tones of this picture have similar characteristics. This picture by Lazslo Moholy represents the principle variety because it is unique and individualistic. The individuality shows how the artist is capable of contrasting different elements, and meshing them together. This picture represents the element form, it is three dimensional, shows the height and width, and the form of the leaves with the snow is emphasized.
1. I took these pictures by having the shutter priority on 1600 but my camera was too dark, so I had to turn on the flash.
2. I had no problems with the shutter speed, it woke out perfectly. 3. What I learned about shutter speed: at a certain speed, it captures pictures at the perfect second. 4. Shutter speed doesn't just work for capturing cards flying, water balloon droppings, and jumping; its used for capturing fast moving traffic and sport images, such s action shots. Red Ribbon Campaign is the largest and oldest drug prevention program in the nation reaching millions of young people during Red Ribbon Week. Therefore my project was based on this campaign; I had to create a picture that captures the meaning of respecting yourself and going the distance, and not being dragged down by substance abuse.
My photograph is a picture of a girl who is running on the track with a red baton in hand. The picture itself had to be black and white, but an item had to be red; I chose the baton to be red. I made it red because it symbolizes the girl’s passion for her sport. She’s proving to herself that she can strive for greatness. I took these pictures on a tripod, in a pitch black room with glow sticks, and used an app on my phone called Light Painting. I had a hard time taking my pictures because even though the room was pitch black, my pictures would come out as if a light was on, so I had to keep decreasing the shutter speed.
1. I changed my camera to shutter priority by moving the dial on the top of the camera to the symbol that's a "S"
2. If the shutter speed was small, such as shutter speed 1/3, it'd be more ghostly, and the pictures wouldn't come out clear. Then when the shutter speed number would go up, such as shutter speed 1/1000, the picture was very precise and clear. 3. Examples of situations to use shutter speed priority is if you're trying to capture a picture of a bird in flight, or if you're trying to take a picture of someone during a sports event 4. Shutter speedare both an technical and aesthetic choice an photographer needs to make before releasing the shutter. The shutter inside your camera controlas the duratiom of time the sensor is exposed to light. Capturing the blur or motion in your photograph can emphasize movement and add drama. A fast shutter speed is often utilized to freeze the movement of an subject. An slower shutter speed can be used to show motions and visualize movement. Shutter speeds are expressed as seconds or fractions of seconds
Daguerreotypes were invented by Louis Jacques Mande Daguerre, and was discovered in 1839. A daguerreotype looks very detailed and sharp. It is made from a silvered copper plate that has a mirror-like surface, and is very fragile. The typical daguerreotype kit includes; a tripod, a box for treatment with mercury vapor, boxes for fuming with iodine and bromine, a soft buckskin pad for buffing the plates, and a box of unexposed silver copper plates.
Cyanotypes were invented by Sir John Hershel and introduced in 1842. The cyanotype process is made up of two solutions: potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate are mixed with water separately. Then the two solutions are blended together in equal parts. Place the solutions on a blank canvas and dried in a dark room, then you rinse the image in water. Then the image will become a blue negative. Three brothers wanted to try this new climb called, The Great Oak. The three brothers name are Frank, Bill, and Stew. Frank was a more excited then the other two, but Bill cautiously started to climb the tree following his brother. Yet while Frank and Bill start to climb, Stew is still down on the ground unsure of this climb. Frank is almost to the top of the tree, Bill is right behind him, but Stew is still stuck near the bottom. Frank is becoming furious with Stew,; therefore, he starts arguing with him, and telling him "you shouldn't have agreed to come if you were going to be a big baby about it. Stew replied " Well what if you or Bill got hurt? Who would help you huh? Which is why I came so shut your stupid trap!" Frank then became silent. Yet a few moments later Frank asked Bill and Stew if they heard some rustling up near the top of the tree, but Bill and Stew both replied "no". Out of nowhere a loud bellow comes from the treetop. The three brothers look up and see a man towering over them in the branches. The strange man asks the three brothers who they are, and why are they in his tree. Frank yells up to the stranger, " This isn't your tree, and we're climbing so leave us be." The stranger, again, yells at them that this is his tree, and they need to leave immediately. In rage, Frank climbs higher to yell at the bafoon who keeps telling him and his brothers to leave. Frank: " I don't understand how this is YOUR tree?! The only thing my brothers and I want to do is climb the tree then we'll leave YOUR precious tree alone. The Stranger replies to frank with nothing but a loud laugh, this makes frank, Bill, and Stewy very nervous, and not knowing what to do. Then BAM! Bill and Stewy look up and they see their brother, Frank, falling to his death. Bill, obviously, wants to kill this "monkey man"; therefore, he climbs up to him and starts yelling at him: " You will pay for this!!!!" Meanwhile, Stewy is making a run for it; climbing down the tree as fast as he can, and believes Frank was getting what he asked for. Bill is fighting with the Stranger trying to avenge his brothers death, but the Stranger is winning immensely. The Stranger is yelling at Bill while still putting up a strong fight, " This is what you and your brother get for trying to climb MY tree. I told you you couldn't climb but you did it anyway, and this is the consequence." At this point all Bill could do now is curse at the man, and beg for mercy. Yet Bill knew begging for mercy was a long shot. Sadly, Bill could not avenge his brothers death, and ended up with the same fate as Frank. Stewy see's his brothers lying on the ground, dead. He screams out in agony and is completely guilt ridden and yelling a himself for being a coward. Stewy is too weak to pick up both of his brothers bodies, so he makes a run for it again attempting to get away from this psychopath. As Stewy contemplates on running for his life, the Stranger quietly climbs down the tree, and is standing right behind Stewy. The Stranger is creepily walking behind stewy, thinking to himself " The last one. After this one they're all going to be dead, and the tree will once again become my tree. No one else's" And in a moment, the Stranger pounces and the only thing you can her is Stewy's loud shriek.
These are photos from my aperture project in my photography class. Aperture is the camera lens letting a certain amount of light in, and this causes the image to blur out certain angles, or be crystal clear. For example, the aperture of the first picture is F/1.8. The picture is so focused in on the first box is because I made the lens smaller. The second picture is F16;therefore, making the lens very wide, which is why the picture is clear. For the last picture the aperture is F8, F8 is right in the middle of the two other examples. In F8 you can see some blurriness on the first box, but it's not too prominent.
